Experimental Exercise

In March of 2020, the Chicago apartment building where I was living was destroyed by a house fire a week before the city shut down due to the Covid pandemic. In March of 2023, I began a monthlong project where I would walk from my old apartment (still charred and gutted 3 years later) to nearby Western Pole Exhibitions (a street pole on the corner of Western and Cermak that hosts artwork). At the end of each walk, I’d post a new drawing. This book is a collection of the 30 drawings I did plus other house fire-related ephemera.
